Wamego Community Foundation continued to pursue opportunities in 2005 and "Connect people who care with causes that matter." The 4th of July Fireworks Fund, Old Military Road Recreational Trail Fund, Wamego River Access Fund, The Class of 2005 Scholarship Fund and the Crystal Derenne Memorial Scholarship Fund were created. 15 Scholarships were awarded to area high school seniors from nine scholarship funds and one donor-advised fund. The Administrative Fund continues to be funded through generous businesses and individual donations.
