A group of concerned citizens created a fund with Wamego Community Foundation and named it Friends of the Park. They organized fund raisers. As funds increased, improvements were made and equipment was purchased for the Wamego City Park such as a slipper slide, jungle gym, tot play set, tire swing, sand digger, teeter totter, and climbing equipment. Currently, the Friends of the Park Fund totals approximately $22,000. As contributions continue to come in, additional park equipment will be purchased. In addition, the Friends of the Park Endowment Fund totals approximately $5,500. Contact WCF for additional information.
