Wamego Train Enhancement Project Volunteer Appreciation Event to be Held - June 22, 2009
On Wednesday, July 15th, from 6 - 6:30 p.m. KTKA TV, Topeka, will be broadcasting live from the new depot-style shelter house* in Wamego City Park as part of their Main Street Live coverage. The program will showcase various local businesses and community projects, including the Columbian Theatre, Oz Winery and Vin Vivante Winery, Toto's Tacoz, Wamego City Park, Recreation Complex, the River Boat Landing, and the Walter P. Chrysler House, just to name a few.
This “must attend” event will also serve as the official unveiling of the new depot-style shelter house and as recognition of the numerous volunteers who have made the project possible. For a complete list of volunteers, visit www.thewcf.org.
The event will feature complimentary Johnsonville Brats to the first 150 attendees as well as free T-shirts and other giveaways, popcorn, balloons, live music, children's games, free swimming at the City Pool from 7-9 p.m., free mini shaved ice courtesy of the Friendship House, and much more!
Additional details will be forthcoming, but plan to come early and stay late as there will be something for everyone!
*Rain location will be the Columbian Theatre.
