Wamego Telephone Company Fund – Through this donor-advised fund, Wamego Telephone Company has been able to utilize the administrative services of Wamego Community Foundation to assist them in providing financial assistance to many non-profit organizations in the Wamego area as well as provide scholarships to area high school graduates. Since the initial contribution was made by the Telephone Company to create the Fund in December of 2000, grants have been awarded to other funds managed by Wamego Community Foundation and to various other non-profit organizations; scholarships have also been awarded to graduating seniors from the high schools within the Wamego Telephone Company’s service area.

Wamego Community Endowment Fund – This unrestricted endowment fund was initially created with a $2,000 gift from First National Bank of Wamego to honor the retirement of Don Eisenbeis, a long-time citizen of Wamego and local leader in the banking industry.

The Foundation’s Board of Directors has a great vision for the potential of this Fund to provide valuable assistance for charitable needs throughout the community. The Board decided that it would be most beneficial to allow the Fund to grow a bit more through additional contributions and earnings before awarding grants. The Board’s goal is for this Fund to provide substantial assistance for future community needs.
